How far can a wireless security camera transmit?

Typical wireless cameras can transmit around 1,000 feet; while higher end models can transmit up to 2,500 feet in ideal conditions.

 

How many hours will a DVR (Digital Video Recorder) record?

This all depends on a few factors: quality of video, number of cameras, and size of hard disk storage. A typical system of four cameras, with a 250BG storage disc holds about 18 days of footage.

 

What is a verifocal lens?

A Verifocal lens is another way of stating that a camera is zoom capable.

 

What is the difference from NTSC and PAL?

NTSC (National Television System Committee) is the North American and Japanese standard for digital video recording. Black and white EIA are sometimes referred to as NTSC because almost all NTSC equipment can handle black and white EIA video. PAL(Phase alternating Line) is the North European and Asian standard for digital video recording. Black and white CCIR is sometimes referred to as PAL because almost all PAL equipment can handle black and white CCIR video.

 

What is PTZ?

Pan, Tilt, and Zoom, refer to the cameras angle. Pan refers to the horizontal angle, Tilt, the vertical and Zoom the closeness of the object being focused on.
