Protect yourself!  Protect your Computer!

Have you thought, why is my cell phone charger not charging my phone?  or Why does my laptop battery no longer work?  The answer is almost 90% always because of a power issue relating to lightning.

As a computer repair center located in Largo, Florida (between Tampa and St. Petersburg)  we know how to protect you and your valuables. Rwanda, Africa is the Lighting Capital of the World, but Florida is the Lightning Capital of the United States (Texas is Second).  Tampa Bay is considered to be the beginning of "Lightning Alley" in Florida.   Therefore, we HAVE to take extra precautions to protect our electronics, especially computers! When Lightning Strikes, and you get those quick brown outs or power surges through your home, this is what kills your computers, cell phone chargers, ipod battery etc. Some people ask, "  Will Lightning Blow up my Computer? "  The answer is... No.  You are NOT going to have your monitor shattering and hard Drives spinning in the air, parts flying all directions.  However, there is a VERY good chance that your computer's hardware will blow from the inside.  This means the HardDrive, Power Supply, or Motherboard could just burn out without real warning!   The Lightning is horrible for your electronics, causing spikes up and down in the voltage.  Good News- There's a Solution!  The only way to protect your Electronics from the Lighting is by using a Battery Backup aka UPS- Uninterpretable Power Supply.  You might think, well,  I only have my computer plugged in when I'm using it for a few hours per day, I don't need a battery backup.  WRONG!  There are 100 lighting strikes per second on this Earth, and one could hit you at any time. Also maybe it's not lighting that hits you, but a power surge caused by over consumption on your local grid.(this happens a lot in Florida!)  You just can't afford to risk it!  You need to protect yourself and your Electronics with a UPS.
